About with internships

For students, a strong leaderboard rank or winning project is proof of skill that a resume alone can’t show. See ML competitions for leaderboard events, or how to win a hackathon for tips.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get an internship through a hackathon?

Yes. Many companies hire from hackathons, and the events on this page promise it up front: the top teams get an internship offer, an interview or a referral. Read each listing for the exact terms.

Is an internship referral the same as an offer?

No. A referral puts you in front of the company, usually straight to an interview; the company then decides on the offer. A guaranteed offer is stated as such on the listing.

Who can apply?

Most are open to college students from any year or branch, and some to recent graduates and working professionals. Eligibility is on each hackathon page.

Do I have to pay to register on Hack4Hack?

No. A Hack4Hack account is free, and most hackathons are free to enter. When an organizer charges a fee, it is shown on the hackathon page before you register.
