Frequently asked questions
What is the Hack4Hack Daily Quiz?
The Hack4Hack Daily Quiz is a free, 10-question coding quiz that goes live every day at 4 PM IST. It covers DSA, Python, SQL, machine learning, AI and computer vision, ranks every player on a live leaderboard and publishes the answers with explanations at midnight.
What time does the daily coding quiz go live?
Every day at 4:00 PM IST. The quiz stays open until 11:59 PM IST, so you can play whenever you are free that evening. The answers and explanations go public as soon as it closes.
Is the daily coding quiz free?
Yes, completely. Create a free Hack4Hack account with Google or email and play every day. There are no fees, ads or paid tiers.
What topics does the quiz cover?
Every quiz has data structures and algorithms (DSA) questions, plus questions from Python, SQL and MySQL, machine learning, AI and generative AI (LLMs, RAG, Transformers) and computer vision. The mix changes every day, so every quiz is a surprise.
How many questions are there and how long does it take?
Ten multiple-choice questions: 3 easy, 4 medium and 3 hard. Each has its own timer of 45, 60 or 90 seconds depending on difficulty (15 seconds more when there is code to read), so a quiz takes about 10 minutes.
How is the quiz scored?
Easy questions are worth 10 points, medium 20 and hard 30, plus a speed bonus of up to 5 points for a fast correct answer. Wrong answers lose nothing. Ties are broken by total time taken. A perfect run scores 250.
How does the leaderboard work?
There is a leaderboard for today’s quiz, one for this week and an all-time global ranking. The weekly and all-time boards rank players by total score across every quiz they have played, and show how many quizzes each player attempted and their current streak. See the full leaderboard.
How do streaks work?
Finish the quiz on consecutive days to build a streak. Miss a day and it starts again from one. Your current and best streaks are shown on your stats and on the leaderboard.
Can I play more than once or practise old quizzes?
You get one ranked attempt per day, and every past quiz stays online with its answers and explanations. For unlimited, untimed practice there are practice questions in 18 subjects, from DSA, Python, Java and SQL to operating systems, system design and generative AI.
Is the daily quiz good for placement and coding interview preparation?
Yes. The questions cover what campus placements and tech interviews test most: time complexity, arrays, trees, graphs and dynamic programming, Python output questions, SQL joins and window functions, and core ML and AI concepts. Ten minutes a day, with an explanation for every answer, builds that knowledge steadily.
Where can I practise DSA, Python and SQL MCQs online for free?
On Hack4Hack Practice: free MCQs with answers and explanations in 18 subjects, including DSA, Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, SQL, DBMS, operating systems, computer networks, OOPs, machine learning and AI. Answer at your own pace, then test yourself in the timed Daily Quiz at 4 PM IST.
How is cheating prevented?
The server times every question and grades every answer, so answers never reach the browser before the quiz closes. Each player sees the questions and options in a different order, and the leaderboard rewards consistency over many days, not one lucky run.
What do the toppers get?
The top 3 of every week are featured on the Hack4Hack Daily Quiz page, and every leaderboard is public, so your rank is something you can show.
Where can I find hackathons and coding competitions in India?
Hack4Hack lists open and upcoming hackathons across India, including online hackathons, AI hackathons and hackathons for students. Registering is free, and you can find teammates on the platform.
