About

AgentX is a free, online hackathon for building **agentic AI**: systems that plan, use tools, take actions and finish multi-step tasks, not just chat. Pick a real problem, build an agent that solves it, and compete for a **₹3.75 lakh** prize pool.

## How it works

1. **Register your team** (2–4 members). Registration is open now and closes on 24 Oct.

2. **Submit your idea** for one problem statement from your team workspace by 25 Oct, 11:59 PM: a deck of up to 6 slides, shared as a link.

3. **Top 100 teams are shortlisted** and announced on 27 Oct.

4. **Build for 24 hours**, online: 31 Oct, 10:00 AM to 1 Nov, 10:00 AM IST.

5. **Demo to the judges** on 1–2 Nov. Results on 3 Nov.

## Who can participate

- College students from any year or branch, and working professionals

- Teams of 2 to 4 members; you can invite teammates by link or email after registering

- Free to enter, with no registration fee

## Problem statements

Pick **one** of the five below. Your agent must take real actions through tools or APIs; a plain chatbot does not qualify.

### PS-01 · Scheme Saathi: a welfare scheme agent

Eligible citizens miss government schemes because information is scattered and forms are complex. Build an agent that talks to the user by voice or text in Hindi or a regional language, works out which schemes they qualify for, builds their document checklist, pre-fills the application form and tracks follow-ups.

**Must have:** tool calls for eligibility rules and form filling, and a human confirmation step before anything is submitted.

### PS-02 · Agentic trading bot (paper trading)

Retail traders act on noise, skip risk rules and cannot explain their own trades. Build an autonomous trading agent that reads market data and news, picks or adapts a strategy, backtests it, and places trades in a paper-trading (simulated) account through a broker sandbox or mock exchange API. It must size positions, set stop-losses, respect a daily loss limit, and write a plain-language journal explaining every trade.

**Must have:** paper trading only (no real money), hard risk guardrails with a human kill switch, and a backtest report compared with buy-and-hold.

### PS-03 · Multi-agent disaster response coordinator

During floods and heatwaves, alerts, rescue requests and relief supplies are coordinated by hand. Build a multi-agent system that watches alerts and citizen reports, prioritises requests, assigns volunteers and resources, and sends area-wise updates in the local language.

**Must have:** at least two cooperating agents (for example triage and dispatch) and a live dashboard.

### PS-04 · Autonomous support agent for online sellers

Small e-commerce sellers are flooded with "where is my order", return and refund messages. Build an agent that handles these over chat (for example WhatsApp): it checks order and shipping status through APIs, starts returns and escalates to a human with a summary.

**Must have:** real tool or API calls on mock store data, refund-limit guardrails, and a log of every action taken.

### PS-05 · Bug-fix agent for code repositories

Developers spend hours triaging issues. Build an agent that reads a GitHub issue, reproduces the bug in a sandbox, finds the cause, writes a fix and tests, and opens a pull request with an explanation.

**Must have:** sandboxed code execution, tests that pass after the fix, and human review before merging.

## What to submit

- **Idea round (by 25 Oct):** the problem statement you chose and your idea deck (up to 6 slides) as a link

- **Final round (by 1 Nov, 10:00 AM):** a GitHub repository with a README, a demo video of up to 3 minutes, and a 6-slide deck

## Judging

- **Problem fit and real-world impact:** 25%

- **Agent design** (planning, tool use, memory): 25%

- **Working demo and reliability:** 20%

- **Innovation:** 15%

- **Presentation:** 15%
